With a growing population and a reduction in the available natural resources on our planet, there is a great need for an innovative way of producing sustainable chemicals. The main purpose of this research project is to develop methods for sustainable enzymatic production of added-value chemicals driven by CO2 and LEDs. The position is an opportunity to join the enzyme design and engineering team in Syrén’s group to develop new-to-nature biotransformations by designer enzymes. The research area includes enzyme discovery, sequence-based enzyme design, ancestral sequence reconstruction and development of chemoenzymatic cascades, enzyme technology. Tools for in silico enzyme design will be used to generate designer enzymes that will then be employed in synthesis involving photocatalysis and CO2 for applications within platform chemicals, materials and additives. The work will be placed at the School of Chemistry, Biotechnology and Health at KTH.

While NPCs typically follow pre-scripted actions or dialogue that can affect gameplay, the gaming industry has a large interest in using AI to increase the autonomy and believability of these characters. Warren Buffett is an American business magnate, investor, speaker and philanthropist who serves as the chairman and CEO of Berkshire Hathaway. 

Buffett is one of the greatest and successful investors of all time. As of 2022, his net worth was $117.7B (according to the wealth-tracking platform, Forbes).

He first bought stock at age 11 and first filed taxes at age 13.

Mr. Buffett gives advice for business and entrepreneurs in investing in stocks, finance, building a successful business.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
  • Relevant undergraduate degree may be helpful, however applications encouraged from those with relevant professional experience and a desire to grow in this field.
  • 2-3 years of experience working in an administration role, ideally with highly confidential data, using multiple systems and reporting methods.
  • Highly organized and detail-oriented; ability to work under pressure and meet multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.

Development Reporting & Metrics Specialist

HIAS seeks a Development Reporting & Metrics Specialist to provide support to the Development Operations team. Reporting to the Development Systems Manager, this role focuses on tracking and reporting data on all private giving, pulling regular quarterly reports for the Strategy & Measurement team and responding to data requests from colleagues in Major Gifts, Jewish Communal Philanthropy, Community Engagement, Institutional Development, Executive Office, lay leadership and the HIAS Foundation. The Development Reporting & Metrics Specialist assists in maintaining data hygiene and ensures that reports are accurate and complete. This role will help drive key initiatives and strategic long-term goals through ad-hoc and scheduled tracking and reporting and will work closely with a wide variety of internal stakeholders.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
  • 3-5 years of experience in a nonprofit fundraising/development environment.
  • Experience with fundraising data management systems required, particularly Raiser’s Edge/NXT; advanced skills in Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
  • Experience with Target Analytics and ResearchPoint a plus.
  • Must be extremely detail-oriented, with excellent planning and organizational skills; ability to prioritize and manage time efficiently in a fast-paced work environment.

Director of Public-Private Partnerships

Partners of the Americas seeks a Director of Public-Private Partnerships. This role reports directly to Partners’ Director of the 100,000 Strong in the Americas (100K) program and is responsible for leading public and private sector collaboration for the 100K Innovation Fund. In addition, the Director will support other public-private partnerships strategic to the organization.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • Grow and diversify Partners’ higher education portfolio, especially with private, foundation, and non-U.S. government partners.
  • Develop and strengthen Partners’ ability to affiliate and work with universities. Develop and strengthen Partners’ ability to work with corporations, and non-U.S. government actors.
  • Champion the impact of Partners’ programs to a diversity of audiences and increase the visibility of the brand in front of private sector, foundation, and government partners.
  • Develop fundraising and outreach strategies in close collaboration with program partners and stakeholders.
  • Raise funds from corporations, foundations, and government agencies. Develop successful concept papers and proposals and successfully cultivate donors to obtain grants and other commitments.
  • Fundraise the necessary annual funding regarding cost share and funds for grant competitions for the 100K Strong in the Americas program.
  • Collaborate on a communications and marketing strategy to ensure a strong website and web presence, to highlight partnerships with key stakeholders, and to attract and cultivate new partners.
  • Serve as the point of contact for all private sector and foundation donors in all matters related to fundraising. Work in close coordination with the operations staff to align donor expectations with reality and set timelines for giving/increased engagement/event participation.
  • Supervise program staff and consultants as appropriate; and
  • Travel to events and other fundraising opportunities will be required.
  • Train Partners’ staff on fundraising techniques.
Qualifications and Minimum Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree required. Master’s degree preferred.
  • A minimum of six years professional experience in fundraising with a proven track record of success securing funds and managing a diversity of donors.
  • Experience managing U.S. government-funded programs is a plus.
  • Strong cross-cultural/ interpersonal skills and knowledge of Latin America. Ability to interact with stakeholders with cultural sensitivity, fostering a supportive environment in person and in all forms of correspondence.
  • Excellent writing skills.
  • Experience working with stakeholders in higher education, international exchange, and workforce development is a plus.
  • Fluency in Spanish required; excellent oral and written skills in English and Spanish is required; Portuguese and/or French not required but a plus.
  • Strong computer skills including MS Word and Excel.
  • Ability to stick to timelines and meet deadlines consistently.
